Avril Lavigne takes punk fashion to the next level. On Friday, the Canadian singer gave her fans a behind-the-scenes look at touring with Machine Gun Kelly. The rapper-turned-rock star is currently leading a 42-day North American and European summer tour that includes Lavigne as the opening act. Travis Barker, Willow Smith and Black Bear also join the lineup and will appear on various dates.

In a new reel uploaded on Lavigne’s Instagram today, the duo appears to be taking a break from the stage to begin their joint collaboration “Bois Lie.” The recording shows Avril and Kelly getting off their tour bus and attending a mini dance together for the hit single from her seventh studio album, Love Sux.

Adhering to the gothic grunge aesthetic, Avril got out of the car in a long-sleeve mesh top that was adorned with silver sequins throughout. She wore the speckled dress over a low-slung black bra. The “sophisticated” pop star paired her top with a pleated, high-waisted miniskirt that featured a center zip detail and was embellished with rings and fringe. She kept her accessories minimal and completed the look with a fishnet bodysuit.

While her outfits are well-received by fans, her shoes also deserve a moment of their own. The punk rock princess donned a pair of knee-length combat boots. The utility model features a shiny metal toe cap and silver studs on the calf and calf.

Kelly showed off his unparalleled punk rock style in a vintage Outkast tee with yellow and black plaid pants. On his feet are a pair of black Vans Old Skool sneakers. This classic canvas style includes suede accents, a comfortable padded collar and a flexible rubber sole.

Lavigne made her Summerfest tour debut a month after she celebrated the 20th anniversary of her debut album, “Let Go.” The project is known for ushering in a new era of female pop-punk with its honest lyricism and skateboard aesthetic. To celebrate the acclaimed album — the biggest pop debut of 2002, going platinum seven times and being nominated for a Grammy — Arista Records and Legacy Recordings have released a six additional track Extended Edition.
