Looking at the initial reactions to Brad Pitt’s “Bullet Train,” critics are divided on their thoughts on the upcoming release.

Brad Pitt’s summer blockbuster with Sony Pictures hits theaters later this week. David Leitch’s highly anticipated adaptation of Isaka Kotaro’s novel “Bullet Train” has received its first round of criticism, and they share whether they think the film will go smoothly, or a train might happen Crash.

The film’s synopsis follows five assassins who find themselves in a fast-moving bullet train, only to realize that each of them has their own mission interconnected. Pitt co-stars with Sandra Bullock, Joey King, Bad Bunny, Brian Terry Henry, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and more in this action-thriller adaptation. Critics have so far received mostly positive reviews for the film, calling it a “fun ticket!” Ross Bonaime said: “A film featuring Samurai Michael Shannon ) and half the cast of Atlanta could not be unhappy.” Another critic called the film “chaotic” but praised it for being “so fast-paced” and “interesting and outrageous”. The general consensus is that the film brings “wild energy” and great chemistry from the cast.

While mainly seeing positive signs, some believe the opposite. Scott Mantz called the film “a mess and quickly derailed” because it was “too long and complicated.” Another critic, Jason Bailey, called the film “Big SMOKIN ACES energy,” but clarified that it was actually “not a compliment.” Check out the first reactions to the film below.
