Coterie is getting a new look.

First launched in New York in 1986, the contemporary women’s trade show under Informa Markets Fashion will get a facelift when it opens on September 18.

In its 40-year history, Coterie has helped launch, relaunch and scale brands like Theory, Velvet and Alice & Olivia. Now, the show is going into the post-pandemic future by focusing on three fundamental pillars.

The first pillar focuses on the community and culture of the fashion industry. The second focus is on sustainability pathways for the brand and the entire fashion ecosystem. The final pillar will focus on bringing new technologies to Coterie’s audience, including access to educational courses and other live programming on the metaverse, retail tech, Web3, 3-D marketing and other emerging fashion technologies.

“We are enhancing brands and retailers’ fully immersive online and in-person experiences and strengthening our communities through intensive educational programs and comprehensive community content from the industry’s top leaders,” said Kelly Helfman, president of Informa Markets Fashion. The evolution continues; it’s just the beginning.”

Teodora Nicolae, Vice President of Marketing, Fashion at Informa Markets, added: “This is not just a cosmetic rebrand, we are developing from the ground up. Looking forward to seeing the brand lift, a renewed focus on our values and mission, more inspiring and insightful Powerful content and a truly immersive, hands-on experience. It’s the Coterie you know, but more dynamic than ever.”

The name change comes a week after Informa Fashion Markets wrapped up its Las Vegas trade event. During the 3-day MAGIC, Project, Sourcing at MAGIC event, 30,000 registered attendees purchased more than 2,000 brands, according to show organizers. Of the brands exhibiting at the event, 25% were new exhibitors.

Coterie New York will be held September 18-20 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
