Jonathan Anderson’s eponymous label JW Anderson isn’t afraid to push boundaries — its recent Spring/Summer 2023 show in Milan was an exercise in deep thought and belief, and brands like Penis Coin Pouch The logo has become the identity of the brand, and now it’s the turn of what we all know — and hate — to reign supreme: the pigeon clutch.
During the designer’s Fall/Winter 2022 runway, the Pigeon clutch was described as a “grey” colorway, which was a bit ridiculous—thanks to being a replica of the sky pest. JW Anderson used a 3D printer to create the bag, which created a life-size bird with all the shades of pink and blue around the dove’s neck, and you can even see the details of its tiny feet, beak and eyes.
The piece is meant to be held in the hand, and when you want to use it, you simply open the bird’s wings and enter an interior cavity that holds all your daily essentials. Here you’ll find gold hinges along with matching magnetic closures and embossed JW Anderson branding under the wings.
JW Anderson’s Kitsch Pigeon Clutch Bag can be seen in the gallery above and is now available in-store or online for $890.
