The “Umbrella Academy” creators are adapting the action RPG “Horizon Zero Dawn” into a TV series starring the video game’s protagonist, Aloy.

While The Umbrella Academy has just announced its fourth and final season, the show’s creator, Steven Blackman, already has a new project in the works. Blackman will adapt the action RPG Horizon Zero Dawn into a Netflix series.

Launched in 2017 by Guerilla Games and Sony, Horizon Zero Dawn follows a hunter named Aloy on a journey to discover more about her past in a world overrun by machine creatures.

Blackman confirmed that Aloy will be the lead in the adaptation. He will work with his writing partner Michelle Lovretta to expand the IP into a full-fledged show.

Horizon Zero Dawn is a well-made game with wonderful characters that aren’t often found among the average person in the gaming world,” Blackman told Netflix’s Tudum. “Guerrilla Games has created an incredibly rich and vivid The human and machine worlds find themselves in a forgotten collision. ”

“Their redemption came from a young female warrior named Aloy who didn’t know she was the key to saving the world,” he continued. “I just want to say, yes, Aloy will be the protagonist of our story.”

The announcement has fans wondering if the show will cover how machines take over the world, or other issues introduced in video games.

Concurrent with the Horizon Zero Dawn adaptation, Blackman was also producing a show called Orbital on the International Space Station.
