The Weckner actor teased the villain’s revenge in Stranger Things season 5, and the finale of the latest season leaves his storyline still to go further.
Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven may have won the fight against Jamie Campbell Bower’s Vecna at the end of Stranger Things season four, but the Duffer Brothers apparently left more room to explore the terrifying villain’s storyline and keep him alive, Now the British actor has teased his revenge in the upcoming fifth and final season. In an interview with NME, Bower said Vecna was so determined to take revenge on Eleven, her friends and Hawkins if viewers were wrong to think he had retreated to heal his wounds.
“He was angry, he was angry,” he said. “I don’t think he’s going to lick his wounds in pain. He’s rebuilding, he’s going to lose everything. Like, you’re really fucking pushing the button now, that classic Jason Voorhees [Friday the 13th hockey] Mask Killer] thing – you made a big mistake.”
While he doesn’t know exactly how the rest of season 5 will play out, for now, Ball has also expressed his desire to see more exploration of Weckner’s relationship with Noah Schnapp’s Will Byers. “I think the connection between Vecna and Will has yet to be explored,” the actor added. “As a fan, I’m interested in seeing more.”
There is currently no release date for the final season of Stranger Things, but filming is set to begin in 2023, so you can expect the show to hit theaters as early as 2024.
