Earlier Friday, Netflix had a brief meltdown following the debut of the highly anticipated Season 4 Volume 2 of Stranger Things.
According to Downdetector, which monitors outages on various platforms, around 3 a.m. ET, when the latest issue of Stranger Things was released on the platform, there was a spike in user-reported issues with the service. Reports peaked at nearly 13,000 within an hour, although the issue appeared to be largely resolved in about 20 minutes.
In its first four weeks of release, Season 4 of Stranger Things has taken the all-time No. 1 spot on the streaming giant’s English-language series, based on total streaming time. The second volume contains only two episodes, although their total runtime is nearly four hours.
Season 4 of Stranger Things includes episodes directed by the Duffer Brothers, Shawn Levy and Nimród Antal, and written by the Duffer Brothers, Caitlin Schneiderhan, Paul Dichter, Kate Trefry and Curtis Gwinn. The series stars Millie Bobby Brown, Sadie Sink, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Garten Matarazzo, Noah Schnapp, Charlie Heaton, Priya Ferguson, Brett Gelman, Carla Buno, Matthew Modine, Robert England and others.
