The ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ trailer was unveiled at Expo D23, starring Walker Scobell from The Adam Project.
Disney+ has released the first trailer for Percy Jackson and the Olympians, the TV adaptation of Rick Riordan’s classic novel series. The story follows 12-year-old demigod Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, who is accused by Zeus of stealing his lightning bolts. Walker Scobell from Netflix’s The Adam Project plays Jackson and is pictured walking through the Half-Blood Camp, a demigod training facility, and ending up on the steps of Poseidon’s Hut.
Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters—the first and second books in the series—were adapted into full-length films in 2010 and 2013, with little to no Rick Riordan’s creative control. The upcoming Disney+ series will be different, as Riordan leads the project alongside Jonathan Steinberg and Dan Shotz.
“This show is the most ambitious project we’ve ever done, even for our seasoned team members. Huge number of sets. Sophisticated special effects. Young actors leading the show. It all takes time. But it pays off. will be worth it. I have full confidence in it,” Riordan wrote via Collider
