Evan Peters stars as Jeffrey Dahmer in the trailer for Ryan Murphy’s “Monster,” which premieres September 21 on Netflix.

On Friday, Netflix released the official trailer for Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s upcoming true crime drama Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, starring American Horry Story actor Evan Peters.

Peters will portray the eponymous serial killer, who horribly took the lives of 17 innocent people between 1978 and 1991. Murphy’s series “exposes these unconscionable crimes around underserved victims and their communities affected by systemic racism and police failure, allowing one of America’s most notorious serial killers to continue his killing spree” more than a decade,” according to the official synopsis.

In addition to Peters, the show also stars Richard Jenkins, Molly Ringwald, Michael Leonard and Nash Nash. Murphy and Brennan wrote and executive produced the show with Peters, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Janet Mock and Carl Franklin.

“In 10 powerful episodes, Dahmer focuses on Dahmer’s victims, those who tried to stop him, and the little-known stories of the systemic failures that enabled him to continue his killing spree for over a decade. on,” read a post from Ryan Murphy Productions’ Instagram account. “That’s why we needed two trailers to properly show the complex story.” The second trailer is expected to arrive on September 20 at 8pm PT.
