A stage play based on the Stranger Things universe is currently streaming on Netflix.
The upcoming show is one of the first projects Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer will be working on as part of their newest Upside Down Productions division. Described by Netflix as “the world of Stranger Things and a new stage play in mythology,” it will be co-produced by award-winners Sonia Friedman and Stephen Dardley (the latter will also direct) Netflix and 21 Laps made by people.
The Duffer Brothers’ Upside Down Productions will be led by Hilary Leavitt and will “aimed at creating the kind of stories that inspire Duffers to grow up – stories that take place at beautiful crossroads, where the ordinary meets the extraordinary, where the big scenes coexist alongside intimate character productions,” Inner trumps cynicism.” The brothers shared their excitement in a statement:
