Amal Clooney was seen in Manhattan last night seemingly out to dinner, holding hands with her husband and accomplished actor George Clooney.
Sparkling from head to toe, Amal wore a little black gown by Elie Saab, which was accented with layers of sequins and a sheer lettuce hem for a modern take on the historic silhouette. Mid-length garments have little shape, with no sleeves and high necks, reminiscent of ’60s modern clothing, if only for shimmering materials and muted color schemes.
Carrying a black and gold rectangular clutch with minimal accessories, the lawyer mixed the metal with simple dangling silver earrings, and plain jewelry allowed the dazzling gown to take center stage.
Amal made a strong debut, showing up on the city streets of the Big Apple in lace-up black velvet pointed-toe pumps and a striking gold toe. These shiny gold-plated shoes were designed by Balenciaga and effectively add an extra inch to the 44-year-old. Amal’s shoes are like delicate ballet shoes, as she has thick and thin straps around her ankles that cross her feet, just right to hold the two sharp shoes in place.
