Plot details for Wes Anderson’s upcoming film Asteroid City describe it as a “poetic meditation on the meaning of life”.
According to reports, the film will be set in a fictional American desert town in the mid-50s, where a convention of teenage stargazers is taking place. As students and parents from across the country come together, audiences can look forward to “academic competitions, break entertainment, comedy, drama, romance, and more.”
Asteroid City will star Tom Hanks and Margot Robbie in their first roles in the Anderson film, alongside Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, Jeffrey Wright, Thiel Dar Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Ed Norton, Adrien Brody, Lev Schreiber, Hope Davis, Stephen Parker, Rupert as Friend, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Matt Dillon, Hong Zhou, Willem Dafoe, Tony Revolori, Jack Ryan, Grace Edwards, Aristo Meehan, Sophia Lilith, Ethan Lee, Jeff Goldblum and Rita Wilson. Anderson directed the film and co-wrote the screenplay with Roman Coppola.
