Nike has been creating designs for Indigenous peoples since 2007. In 2009, Swoosh launched the N7, a product line influenced by 7 generations of Native American wisdom. The Nike N7 is dedicated to supporting and moving Native Americans and Indigenous youth based on their core philosophy of supporting athletes from all communities and expanding the sport for the next generation. Let’s take a look at what this year’s N7 series has in store for us.

The 2022 Nike N7 collection explores local identity through basketball. This year’s lineup includes the Free Crater Trail Moc, Air Max 95, Kyrie 5 Low. Clothing will also be available as part of the collection, including jumpsuits, crew, t-shirts and basketball shorts. The tape detailing seen through the collection as well as the palette on shoes and apparel pays homage to traditional ribbon skirts and weaving techniques. It acknowledges the craftsmanship and detailing of Aboriginal women who wear skirts during ceremonies and other important events.

The series also focuses on giving back to the community it is designed to represent. Nike made contributions totaling $625,00 to 13 organizations in FY22. The Nike N7 Fund aims to connect Native American and Indigenous youth in play, sports and physical activity programs, from 2009 to 2021. Take a closer look at the community-focused collection below.
