Mamie Till-Mobley seeks justice for her son Emmett in the trailer for the “TILL” biopic, based on the true story of 14-year-old Emmett Till who was lynched in 1955.
MGM has released the trailer for TILL, the theatrical biopic based on the true story of the lynching of 14-year-old Emmett Till in 1955 and his mother Mamie Till-Mobley’s journey to find justice for her son.
Directed by Chinonye Chukwu, it stars Danielle Deadwyler as Till-Mobley and Jalyn Hall as Emmett. The two-and-a-half-minute trailer hears Til Mobley talk fondly about her son while playing a clip of him traveling to Drew, Mississippi, to visit his cousins over the summer. Emmett can also be seen entering Carolyn Bryant’s grocery store, which quickly proves his kidnapping and brutal killing. Till-Mobley could also stand firm in her decision to make it a public casket funeral for the world to see as a catalyst for the civil rights movement.
Joining Deadweller and Hall are Frankie Faison as John Carson, Hayley Bennett as Caroline Bryant, Whoopi Goldberg as Alma Carson, Jay Mae Lawson as Meryl Evers, Tossin Cole as Medgar Evers, Kevin Carroll as Rayfield Muti, Sean Patrick Thomas as Gene Moore Bulley, John Douglas Thompson as Moses Wright, and Roger Gunnville Smith as TRM Dr. Howard.
