Reese Witherspoon featured sophisticated glamour in a custom Schiaparelli look at the “Surface” red carpet premiere in New York on Monday.
In the highly anticipated eight-episode psychological drama on Apple TV+, heroine Gugu Mbatha-Raw plays Sophie, who struggles after an accident after losing her memory. Sophie must now piece together the life she once had. Witherspoon serves as executive producer of the show through her media company, Hello Sunshine.
Witherspoon graced the red carpet in a white Schiaparelli midi dress, opting for an elegant and sophisticated cream tray. This dress features a faux collar, is sleeveless, and has gold accents on the bodice, waistline and skirt. Since the creation of the brand by Elsa Schiaparelli, Schiaparelli has been known for his surreal collections, which bring together the worlds of traditional art and fashion.
Emphasizing expressive silhouettes and playful proportions, the brand’s new helm, Daniel Roseberry, uses gold as a tool rather than a reflective element to add glamour to the pieces. Witherspoon wore a dress that matched the brand’s revamped gilded pattern, but with a more traditional silhouette. The dress is stunning and reflects the brand’s DNA while appealing to Witherspoon’s personal taste like every quality bespoke garment.
The “Legal Blonde” actress played her feet witty in white pointed-toe pumps, a bone-white shade that contrasted with the soft cream of the dress. The heel style is one of Witherspoon’s favorites, and the pointy shape actively guides the eye down. When she’s not wearing heels, the actress seems to favor slouchy sandals and a pair of sturdy black boots.
