Vanderpump Rules’ Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney have announced they are going their separate ways in March after 12 years together, but that doesn’t mean all hopes of the reality star are gone. “Never say never,” Tom, 39, exclusively told HollywoodLife of a possible reconciliation while enjoying a family and friend event with Tom Sandoval, Schwartz and Sandy’s new cocktail lounge and restaurant. “As of now, we’re on an indefinite hiatus. We still love and support each other. I’m a huge Maloney champ. I’ll stand by her in everything she does. She’s killing it and taking her stride. The podcast is smashing it. .”
Katie, 35, discussed what caused their marriage to fall apart on her podcast “You’ll Love Me” just days after announcing their divorce. “It didn’t lead to this crazy fight,” she explained. “It was my decision, and it was probably the hardest, most painful decision I’ve ever made. But the best and only way I can describe it is to wake up in my life and have an increasingly loud Voice.” She added that she silently “sit” her marital problems until she felt like she was about to “explode” with depression. “For a few months, it was building. I just felt disconnected. I felt like I was drifting further and further,” she recalls.
She also noted that she and Tom are in a great position as they grapple with the new normal. “It was definitely emotional,” she admitted. “But it’s also come in a peaceful and loving way. So far, the transition has gone well. We’re still living in our house, we’re just trying to go through these steps together and really try to be friends.”
Fortunately, a few months later, Tom expressed the same sentiment and confirmed that there is no feud between him and the podcaster. “I’m still very close to Katie. Can we have a divorce party together?” he joked to HollywoodLife. “It’s great to be completely transparent. Katie and I still have a deep bond and we still love each other,” he continued, before noting Katie’s brother Joey was in attendance at a gathering of family and friends. He concluded: “We are still very close and we have joint custody of the dogs. It feels really good to say I have zero bitterness or anger. I still love her.”
The entrepreneur has previously admitted he was the only reason why his union with Katie didn’t work out. “No, no, it’s all about me. I wish I had a scapegoat, but it’s all on me,” he told a “celebrity photographer” outside the Los Angeles-area Home Depot. He went on to say the whole situation was “obviously complicated” and updated how he was coping at the time. “I don’t know what the future holds for this show. I’m always optimistic, always. Yes, I’m doing well. I’ve been busy,” he said.

Tom has certainly been busy, because on July 19, he celebrated the opening of his Hollywood bar and lounge with Tom Sandoval. Talking about the design influences behind the space, Tom told HL that he wanted it to feel “cohesive, fun, funky and beautiful – but not overly cohesive.” In hinting at his breakup, he added: “We want it to feel Each part feels like its own little world, but still works together. We hope it’s a little escape. A little bit of a departure from reality… It’s not that I’m deep into escapism, it’s been a tough year.”
