Ben Affleck is back in Aquaman and the Lost Realm again as Batman, although he has expressed his desire to leave the DCEU several times in the past.
Ben Affleck has now been confirmed to return as Batman in the upcoming Aquaman sequel, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, despite having repeatedly stated that he will be stepping down from the role of the DCEU.
While Warner Bros. and DC Comics have kept Affleck’s appearance in the film a secret until now, the news was actually broken by Aquaman himself, who Jason Momoa posted on Instagram about him and Affleck’s selfie at Warner Bros. Studio Lot. “Bruce and Arthur reunited. Love you and miss you Ben,” the actor wrote. “The WB studio tour just explored the exterior, well, all the great things are coming in AQUAMAN 2, all my aloha J.”
Momoa explained that fans had already caught a glimpse of Affleck’s Batman during a studio tour, so it’s no secret that he’ll be returning as the Caped Crusader in the upcoming sequel. “It’s no secret, is it?” he said in a video on Instagram. “That’s what happens, Warner Bros., when you walk out of your set and see our fans.”
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set to hit theaters on March 17, 2023.
