Thor: Love and Thunder’s special effects team showcases Christian Bale’s horrific makeup test to transform Gorr the God Butcher for the big screen.
Fans have long asked Christian Bale to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and his debut as Gore in Thor: Love and Thunder definitely didn’t disappoint. Thanks to the film’s makeup effects team, you can now also see how his unique look came to be.
On Instagram, Odd Studio shared a series of photos of Bale playing Gore while the team was doing makeup tests for the character, showing all the horrific details of Thor’s main foe in the film, including his haunting eyes, rotting eyes Teeth and creepy veins and scars on his body. According to the post, the FX team also worked with Allied FX to help develop Bale’s skin tone and Mouth FX, which they now call Gorr Greige Super Ink, to achieve the black bile that spills out of the villain’s mouth when he speaks.
Thor: Love and Thunder is now in theaters.
