Idris Elba gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at “The Beast” in a newly released feature film, Elba’s new thriller set to hit theaters later this month.
Idris Elba and Universal are bringing another summer thriller to wrap up the season later this month.
The British actor plays Dr. Nate Samuels, a father with two daughters on a trip to South Africa, in Balthasar Colmacour’s new survival thriller The Beast. The family later found themselves hunted in the wild by a rogue lion, an incident that forced newly widowed Dr Samuels to fight for his life and that of his daughter. While the trip was meant to heal his tensions with his daughters, it has turned into a chance to test his relationship with them for survival.
Elba Island takes viewers behind the scenes of the filming to gain insight into what the film is really about. Producer Will Packer said “The Beast is a story about a family at risk and in distress” whose limits were tested as the events of the trip to South Africa unfolded. The Beast hit the tehaters on August 19.
