“John Wick 4” will be the longest film in the series to date, and a sequel is reportedly nearing completion.

In a recent interview with Collider, John Wick director Chad Stahelski revealed that the highly anticipated John Wick 4 movie will be the longest in the entire franchise. John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum is the longest movie to date at 2 hours and 12 minutes, and the upcoming movie is expected to be more than 131 minutes, though reportedly not much.

Growth follows an overall upward trajectory, as John Wick is at 101 minutes and John Wick: Chapter 2 at 122 minutes. When asked about the development of the film so far, Stahelski revealed that they had already done it ahead of schedule.

“We’re in the final stages of picture lock, and then we have VFX music. But it’s the furthest I’ve ever been, so many posts,” Stahelski said. “We love the music we’ve had so far. We still have Tyler Bates composing for some of the larger sequences. The VFX will be in for the rest of the year. But we’re getting dangerously close.”

The upcoming film features the return of Keanu Reeves as John Wick and the arrival of actor Donnie Yen as one of his antagonists. Other cast members involved in the sequel include Laurence Fishburne, Lance Reddick, Lena Savama, Ian McShane, Shamir Anderson, Scott Adkins and Clancy Brown.

“The movie is basically done. There may be a couple of weeks of tweaking in general, and then we lock the picture and we focus on the music sounds and effects,” Stahelski continued.

John Wick 4 will be released on March 24, 2023. Check out the trailer here.
