Disney will raise prices on Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ in December 2022 as it rolls out ad-supported versions in the US.
The price increase will reportedly go into effect on December 8, and will see the ad-free premium Disney+ rise from $7.99 a month to $10.99 a month or $109.99 a year. Hulu’s current ad-supported version will go from $6.99 per month or $69.99 per year to $7.99 per month or $79.99 per month, while its ad-free plan will jump from $12.99 per month to $14.99 per month. ESPN+’s previously announced price change will increase from $6.99 per month or $69.99 per year to $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year starting August 23.
“With our new ad-supported Disney+ offering and an expanded planned lineup of our entire streaming portfolio, we will provide consumers with more choice at various price points to meet the diverse needs of our audiences and reach a wider audience,” Kareem Daniel, chairman of Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution, said in a statement.
