The Lord of the Rings: Ring of Thrones will premiere with two episodes, and the Amazon Prime Collection will be available this September.

Amazon Prime has now announced that the premiere of its upcoming The Lord of the Rings: The Ring of Thrones will include the first two episodes. The first season has eight episodes, and the remaining six episodes will be released weekly. The premiere of the first two installments is now scheduled for September 1st at 9pm ET, with subsequent chapters slated to hit theaters every Friday at 12am ET until the series finale on October 14th.

Based on the famous fantasy author JRR Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings trilogy, the new series is not directly based on the plot of the original book or adapted from Peter Jackson’s film, but draws inspiration from the many pages in the author’s appendix, which helps To enrich Middle-earth. The plot of The Rings of Power itself is set thousands of years after the events of the iconic trilogy, political upheaval and war in Middle-earth as Sauron attempts to regain power over the land.
