Watch Chris Rock and Javier Bardem go head-to-head in the new “Look at Me” trailer, premiering at the Venice Film Festival.
As the Venice Film Festival approaches, director Sally Porter has released a trailer for her 16-minute short film “Look at Me,” starring Chris Rock and Javier Bardem. Potter’s latest film also features actor/dancer Savin Glover.
Originally, the scenes were part of Porter’s most recent full-length film, “The Road Not Taken,” about a writer with early-stage dementia. However, the short has now become a sequence of its own and sees the plot center around the fundraising gala rehearsal, in which Rock’s characters, the gala director, and their moody rock drummer, played by Bardem, unfold more and more Intense showdown. In the film’s promotional materials, Porter noted that the scenes were originally filmed for her most recent story. However, she felt the story itself was worth telling on its own. she wrote,
- “When filming the scene between Javier and Chris, it was clear that the material was destined to be a separate story: a film in itself. When I went into the editing room, I saw that together these giants of entertainment were What a dynamic, fickle, fiery relationship on screen offset by the rhythm of brilliant tap dancer Savion Glover. The fate of the story is clear: it has nothing to do with another project. It has to be a movie Short film, a fast-moving portrait of conflict and love. The result is just look at me.”
