In a recent interview with The New Yorker, Halloween series creator John Carpenter claimed that Halloween might not be the last.
The trailer for the end of Halloween debuted last month, giving hardcore fans what to expect from the upcoming movie. Carpenter, the man behind the slasher saga, has spoken about possibly increasing the franchise and adding more sequels. “If a movie makes enough money, you can rest assured that it will [make a sequel],” he told the publication. When asked if “Halloween Ends” will be the last film in the series, Carpenter didn’t give a clear answer, “I’ll have to see how much money it makes!”
His response reiterated his previous interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, in which he had a similar view on whether the franchise was coming to an end, “If the movie makes money, I don’t believe it’s the end. There’s a way, when a When the movie makes money, it looks like it will resurrect the next one.” At the end of Halloween, Mike Myers and James Lee Curtis return for what was supposed to be the final showdown.
