Marvel Studios has reportedly confirmed hiring an MCU timekeeper whose sole job is to keep track of the timelines of all MCU projects.

Marvel has always been good at making sure all of its projects and episodes integrate seamlessly with each other in the MCU. In a recent interview with The Direct, She-Hulk editor-in-chief Jessica Gao commented on how the show fell into the MCU timeline.

To make sure all the storylines match, Gao confirmed that the She-Hulk is a “post-Terminator” and that Marvel has a guy whose only job is to “trace the timeline of everything in the universe.” She pointed out,

  • “It’s definitely after Endgame. There’s actually a Marvel guy whose job is to trace the timeline of everything. We checked with him a lot about the timing. So it’s like… this show It was years after Endgame.

When director Jon Watts was promoting Spider-Man: Homecoming, he revealed to Entertainment Weekly that there was a “real reel” to make sure all events in the MCU were aligned, “and they unfolded a real reel. For me… Eric Carroll, one of my producers, was his first job at Marvel, and he worked on the timeline, seeing where things line up, seeing Look where things don’t quite line up. Like, ‘Oh, that’s when Captain America was born.'”

Marvel fans can understand how important it is to keep a timeline of all movies and TV shows. After the title card error in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, Marvel executives have learned from their mistakes. When it comes to Avengers: Endgame, of course a timeline is required. As the multiverse saga continues to expand and more projects are involved, the need for timeline managers is more common than ever.
