In an Instagram post yesterday, Heidi Klum celebrated her husband Tom Cowlitz’s 33rd birthday on a lavish lap via private jet. The supermodel gathered everyone from Tom’s twin brother Bill Cowlitz to celebrate the rock star’s big day with close friends, donning festive hats and handing out cakes for the occasion.

Off work, the “America’s Got Talent” star donned distressed white and light blue denim, mostly at the knees of the pants. The jeans are tied with a black belt decorated with silver eyelets to hold the pants in place. The German-American paired the grungy bottom with a pink floral crop top, unlike grunge. The casual style is coordinated with the black bra underneath, which peaks above the wide neckline as the Klum moves. Klum wore a crown on her head and pink hair ties on her arms as she prepared to celebrate her lover’s birthday in style.

The goth element of the former “Project Runway” judge’s outfit was carried over to her shoes, which the public figure wore in black combat boots. While hard to see, this shoe features a rounded toe, black laces, and a thick rubber platform sole that elevates the 5’9 silhouette.

Originally designed for soldiers on the battlefield, combat boots are practical footwear for foot protection, ankle support and traction. Classic black leather boots were adopted by counterculture movements in the 1980s and 1990s, such as the goth, punk and grunge scenes.

The “Making the Cut” host’s recent footwear lineup includes stylish boots and sandals from brands including Valentino, Dries Van Noten and R13. On the red carpet, Klum has worn heels and mules from Gianvito Rossi, The Attico and Femme LA.
