Riding the wave of Barbie’s core trend, Nicki Minaj shared a costume from her “Super Freaky Girl” music video on Instagram yesterday. In the photo, Mina sits on a chair, posing for the camera in a striped latex bodysuit and a sky-high platform.
Minaj’s bold pleated mini dress features pink and purple stripes, worn only with shimmering gold chain straps and a mini miniskirt. With chains tying her skirt up, Mina wore the same style, wrapping loosely around her waist to further tighten the skirt, giving the “Anaconda” singer a tight and dangerous silhouette.

Pretty in pink, aptly named “Barbie Harajuku,” her pink tresses are styled in a half-up, half-down style with a leopard-print headband. Minaj features sheer pink sunglasses, a chunky gold bracelet and a matching gold watch.
The rapper was plated in gold from head to toe, and Minaj wore gold accessories down to her intimidating platform sandals. The heels are metallic and held in place with thin straps that wrap twice around the Trinidad star’s ankle, just like any other style of sandal heel. Although a bit inaccessible, the versatile platform shoe variety has been worn by Minaj and many other celebrities for years.
Platform pumps have a raised sole, usually a 4″ or higher heel. The platform construction helps compensate for the height of the heel, allowing for higher heights than traditional pumps without adding any discomfort.
