Chadwick Boseman has been posthumously awarded a Creative Arts Emmy for his appearance on Disney+ and Marvel’s “What If…” , his wife Tyler Simone Ledward accepted the victory on his behalf.
The late actor, who died of colon cancer-related complications in 2020, won Outstanding Role in Voice acting for his role as Star-Lord T’Challa on the series, beating out compatriot What If…? Actors Jeffrey Wright, F. Murray Abraham from Moon Knight, Julie Andrews from Bridgerton, Maya Rudolph from Big Mouth, Stanley Tucci from Central Park and the late Jessica Walter from Archer.
“When I learned that Chad was nominated for the award, I started thinking about everything that happened while he was recording — everything that happened to the world and our world, and was just in awe of his commitment and dedication,” Ledward said on her behalf said the late husband.
“It was such a wonderful moment, the last thing he was going to do was not just relive a character that was so important to him, his career and the world, but to explore something new, dive into a new The potential future — especially everything he said, is about finding out why you are on this planet at this time,” she added. “You can’t understand your purpose unless you’re willing to ask ‘what if’, unless you’re willing to say ‘what if the cosmic conspiracy is in my favor, what if it’s me?'”
