Marvel’s ‘Wolfman of the Night’ Halloween special received a spooky black-and-white trailer featuring Gael Garcia Bernal as Jack Russell.
During Disney’s D23 expo on Saturday, Marvel Studios released a trailer for its first TV special: a black-and-white Halloween horror film called “Wolfman of the Night.”
Starring Gael Garcia Bernal, this horror film draws inspiration from 1903’s and ’40s films and tells the story of Jack Russell, the man Belongs to a werewolf family and carries the curse that eventually turns him into a werewolf. As the story progresses, Russell manages to take control of his malevolent personality and becomes a hero, using his powers to conquer evil. Additionally, Laura Donnelly will play an unknown role alongside Bernal.
Michael Giacchino, who previously created Marvel’s Spider-Man: Nowhere and Thor: Love and Thunder, is directing the project. Marvel chiefs Kevin Feige, Luis Desposito and Victoria Alonso are executive producers.
Like the nature of the TV special, Werewolf of the Night will exist as a stand-alone work. However, it’s up to the Marvel Cinematic Universe on how its storyline will appear in future projects. It’s worth noting that in the comics, Russell frequently makes cameos in other heroes’ stories, including those of Blade and Doctor Strange, so it’s likely that the character will appear in an upcoming MCU installment.
Night of the Werewolf is set to premiere on October 7. Watch the trailer above.
