With Star Wars Andor less than two months away, Disney+ series creator Tony Gilroy has now shared more about how the first season will play out in the character’s final mission Rogue One information that works. Gilroy explained in an interview with Empire Magazine that the story takes place five years before Scarif, played by Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor, and is explored in three episodes a year. .
“The scale of the show is so big,” he explained. “The director worked in sets of three episodes, so we made four sets [in the first season] of three episodes each. We looked at it and said, ‘Wow, it would be fun if we came back, and we used each block to represent A year. We’re going to be close to a year on every block. From a narrative standpoint, it’s really exciting to be able to do something on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and then jump for a year.”
Gilroy also spoke to Comicbook earlier about the motivation for bringing Andor back five years, giving the character room to grow and change. “We always thought it would be fun to have someone who was so accomplished and with so many skills in Rogue One,” the creators said. “He’s clearly a leader, he’s a seductress, and he’s able to change. Ideas, he’s creative, he’s affectionate, he’s going to give himself to the galaxy. Like, well, if you’re starting five years early, what’s the longest journey he can take? So we’re starting He put him in a big hole when he was in 2010. So five years ago, he was a very different person. So looking at you want to see people change.”
Star Wars Andor is coming to Disney+ on August 31st.
