Nicole Richie celebrates the end of summer with her own signature style – neat outfits with a touch of humor.
The Harlow House 1960 designer posed in a new video on Instagram wearing a chic black turtleneck and glossy black Ray-Ban sunglasses the night before her 41st birthday. Both were paired with a classic set of blue jeans and round black and white drop earrings. Draped over Richie’s shoulders is a Prince of Arrows beige and white blanket – which surprisingly blends effortlessly into her outfit. Her final accessory was two glasses of white wine, which she drank together at dinner in the humorous clip.

“Officially the last days of summer and the last days of turning 40,” Richie captioned the video, which garnered much fanfare amid comments from Rachel Zoe, Sofia Richie, Zoe Saldana and Jamie Mizrahi.
“What was it like?” Richie’s friends asked her after she put down her glasses. The star’s one-word reply: “Cooked food.”
Speaking of footwear, Richie’s shoes are invisible. However, the “Simple Living” star likely paired her outfit with a pair of comfy sandals or boots — two must-haves for her off-duty shoe for years. Richie’s wine nights were busy after the summer, where she filmed the third season of Amazon Prime Video’s competition series “Making the Cut,” which premiered in August. She also had a busy schedule at New York Fashion Week, showing House of Harlow’s fall 1960 collection at Revolve Gallery and attending Khaite’s spring 2023 show. Richie ended her trip front row at Tom Ford’s Spring 2023 show with husband Joel Madden – wearing the designer’s white open-back dress, yellow satin clutch and matching heeled sandals.
Richie is known for her glamorous boho style thanks to her collaboration with Rachel Zoe in the early 2000s and the founder of her own label House of Harlow 1960 in 2008. Off-duty, the “Frank Nicole” star regularly wears Nike, Adidas and Adidas. Converse sneakers – although she was spotted wearing Balenciaga and Raye flats, as well as Manolo Blahnik heels. On the red carpet, Richie can be seen wearing a stylish range of pumps and sandals, often from top brands such as Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin, Stella Luna and Miu Miu.
