Marvel has confirmed that several new Gears of War suits are on the way, possibly in “Armored Warfare.”
Earlier this month, Don Cheadle confirmed that he is no longer under contract with Marvel. Cheadle plays the titular War Machine character, also known as Colonel James Lord, and has appeared in multiple MCU films and will appear in 2023’s Secret Invasion.
Appearing in seven different movies and one TV show, the character hasn’t seen many suit variations. In his first appearance in Iron Man, he wears a more patriotic suit, and in Endgame he wears a more dynamic armor. For the most part, Gears of War has a similar look. However, since the unveiling of D23, Marvel Studios has outlined a new description of Armor Wars in a new press release, an upcoming series that follows Don Cheadle’s James Rhodes as he has to deal with Tony Stark’s tech all the way. What happened fell into the wrong hands. Specifically, the press release hints at new armor for Gears of War,
- Fans of Rhodey will see the character in a whole new light, and given the series’ title, viewers can expect an all-new suit for the hero, complete with different types of armor. Title processing is available for download and sharing.
In a new conversation with Screenrant at D23, Cheadle talks about whether Armor Wars is an accumulation of Secret Invasion,
- “They’re connected. What happened with Rhodey was very connected. In fact, what happened throughout the MCU, from Secret Invasion all the way to Armored War, was connected.”
Keep an eye out for these two collections in 2023 and 2024.
