Netflix’s “Redemption Team” trailer gives us a glimpse of Kobe’s Mamba Mentality, as teammates talk about how Kobe was ruthless toward Pau Gasol despite being a teammate.
In preparation for one of the most anticipated sports documentaries of the year, Netflix has released a new trailer for the upcoming “Redemption Team” featuring NBA superstars LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Dwayne Wade, Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony and more.
In this particular trailer, the team identified the moment when Kobe set the tone and instilled a championship mentality for everyone else. Spain and the United States are both the biggest contenders for the gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Kobe’s teammates recalled what exactly Kobe did to make it known that he wasn’t here to play. James remembers that before the U.S. game against Spain, Bryant said he would bump into the chest of his NBA teammate Pau Gasol. James, Wade, Chris Bosh and others doubted Bryant’s ability to beat Gasol to set the tone for the Olympics. However, Bryant did so later, apparently under the influence of the Mamba Mentality.
An interview with Kobe’s teammates highlights the trailer as the world gears up for The Redeem Team, which premieres on Netflix on October 7. Watch the trailer above.
