Katie Holmes hits the stage at New York City’s 2022 Global Citizen Festival in sparkling style — reinvigorating the belated trend in the process.
Speaking onstage with Priyanka Chopra in Central Park, the “Dawson Creek” actress wore a white T-shirt tucked into black jeans. However, Holmes brought her signature chic twist to the outfit by wearing an unbuttoned navy vest over her blouse — a layering technique that became a trend from 2007 to 2009, Stars including Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato and Adam Levine wore it at the time. Holmes completed her ensemble with a wide black leather buckle belt, small silver stud earrings and her own nose ring.
What gave Sherlock Holmes’s utilitarian appeal was her shoes: a set of raised-soled leather boots. The “Alone Together” star’s pair features a round brown leather upper with a shimmery sheen, and is finished with a crisscross front strap with a gold buckle. Completing the pair was a thick-ridged rubber sole and a stubby heel that added a chunky and edgy feel to her outfit—while further cementing its grunge element.
Homes clothing is the latest addition to her latest fall clothing line, which includes classic pieces like ’90s-inspired denim, oversized cardigans, and graphic midi dresses.
The 2022 Global Citizen Festival took place on Saturday night, September 24, on the Great Lawn of New York City’s famous Central Park. Key performers include Mariah Carey, Maneskin, Charlie Puth, Rosalia and The Jonas Brothers. Sza, Mickey Guyton, Christine and the Queens and many more musicians also took part. The event also featured a star-studded host of hosts including Katie Holmes, Priyanka Chopra, Rachel Brosnahan, Jay Shetty, Nancy Pei Losey and Sophia Carson.
