Netflix drops unreleased clip from ‘The Squid Game’ season 1, giving us a peek at the man behind the survival game.
Following a record-breaking first season, South Korean survival drama “Squid Game” has been renewed for a second season. While fans waited for the show to return, director Hwang Dong Hyuk prepared a “little gift” in the form of an unreleased Season 1 clip from Netflix’s annual Tudum Global Fan Event. This 40-second short focuses on Front Man, the main antagonist behind the survival game, who was previously revealed as the brother of Detective Hwang Jun-ho and the winner of the 28th Squid Contest in 2015.
The exclusive clip shows the forward, played by Lee Byung Hun, walking back to his apartment with a bag of live goldfish. He pours the fish into a bowl and stares at it from above—symbolizing the way he oversees cash-strapped players in the Squid Game. The clip ends with a man staring at the receptionist’s apartment, suggesting someone is following the mastermind.
“I want to thank all Netflix fans around the world again for their love of Squid Game. Please look forward to Season 2, which will be full of brand new stories,” said Director Wong.
Check out the clip above, Squid Game Season 2 is expected to release in 2024.
