Amazon Prime Video has released a new trailer for its highly anticipated Lord of the Rings TV series The Lord of the Rings: Ring of Power.
The preview provides an in-depth look at the series’ Middle-earth and the creation of the Ring of Power in the Second Age, thousands of years before The Lord of the Rings. The trailer also gives us a glimpse of the show’s large cast, which includes Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Maxim Baldry, Nazanin Boniadi, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Charles Edwards, Trystan Gravelle, Sir Lenny Henry, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, etc.
“This is the end of not just our people, but all peoples,” the trailer warned. “The past is death. We either move forward or die here.”
“It’s a title we thought could fit on the spine of JRR Tolkien’s other classics. The Ring of Power brings together all the major stories of the Second Age of Middle-earth: the Forge of the Ring, the The rise of Ren, the epic tale of Númenor and the final alliance of elves and men,” co-showrunners JD Payne and Patrick McKay previously said in a statement. “Until now, audiences have only been able to see the story of The One Ring on screen – but before it came out, there were many … and we’re excited to share the epic stories of all of them.”
The first season of The Lord of the Rings: Ring of Thrones will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 2, with new episodes released every Friday. Watch the official trailer above.
