AMC has released a new trailer for its highly anticipated anthology series, The Walking Dead Tales, ahead of its upcoming SDCC panel.
The six-episode series, marking the latest spin-off from the Walking Dead universe, stars Danielle Pineda, Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Parker Posey (Lost in Space), Jillian Bell (Rough Night), Anthony Edwards (ER) and Poppy Liu ( hackers) etc. The trailer details each character, but doesn’t reveal the specifics of any one-hour episodes.
Haifaa al-Mansour, Deborah Kampmeier and Tara Nicole Weyr each directed one episode, and the series’ producer Michael Satrazemis directed three episodes. Each episode of the series employs a different writer, including Ahmadu Garba (The Girl from Plainville), Lindsey Villarreal (Resident Evil), and The Walking Dead’s flagship writer Channing Powell. The series is executive produced by former “Walking Dead” showrunner Scott M. Gimple.
“More than any other series in the ‘Walking Dead’ universe, this series is grounded in new voices, perspectives, and ideas — bringing to life stories we’ve told before,” Kimple said in a statement. . “I’m excited to be Channing’s advisor, doing what I can to help the best fans in TV realize these new visions. Two other The Walking Dead spinoffs are scheduled for release in 2022 and 2023, including another six-episode series called Dead Island, set in post-apocalyptic Manhattan by Lauren Coe. Starring Han and Jeffrey Dean. The second project is an as-yet-untitled series centered on fan-favorite characters Daryl and Carol.
