Netflix is developing a live-action adaptation of Moyashi Fujisawa’s hit Japanese manga Burn the House Down.
The upcoming episode will star Nagano as a young woman with ulterior motives, Yasuzou Murata, who becomes the housekeeper of the wealthy Mitarai family. She meets her second wife, Makiko Mitei, played by Kyoka Suzuki:
- “Shizuka Yamauchi, 25, housekeeper. Makiko Mitarai, 46, amateur model and consummate housewife. Although strangers on the outside, the two share a common past — Shizuka felt she needed to be corrected, for her mother Justice. But Makiko has her own secrets, and Shizuka has to be careful if she wants to find out without getting burned.”
Yuichiro Hirakawa will be the director, Arisa Kaneko will be the screenwriter, Shinichi Takahashi will be the executive producer, and Kei Haruna will be the producer.
A release date has not been announced, but Netflix reportedly plans to premiere the show in 2023.
