Since we first learned that this particular Air Jordan 4 was about to release, we were immediately hooked. Not only do the colorways give us a different look and feel from recent Jordan releases, but the meaning behind them is also very special. An ode to Phil Jackson – often referred to as “The Zen Master,” the longtime coach of the Chicago Bulls dynasty in the ’90s. Phil Jackson is known for his adherence to the principles of Eastern and Native American cultures, and for maintaining a calm demeanor throughout his demanding and stressful work.
The AJ4 ‘Zen Master’ features an amethyst purple and light pink colorway around the upper for a calming feel – similar to the way a lava lamp moves. It is paired with black accents on the mesh, interior, laces and midsole with translucent eyelet wings and heel plate. The silhouette is rounded off and features a cement grey outsole.
