Katy Perry is in California this week celebrating the birthday of stylist, costume designer and fitness guru Johnny Uyek.
As seen on non-Wujek’s Instagram page, the “Play” performer posed for a photo in Montecito with friends like Ferras, Shannon Woodward and Sarah Hudson, 43, in Montecito. For the occasion, she wore a chic beige midi dress with short sleeves, a belted silhouette and a deep neckline. A brown leather Hermes Birkin tote (one of the world’s most elusive handbags) along with gold drop earrings, a layered necklace and rose aviator sunglasses add a classic touch to her overall look.
“OG catalog #Heros,” Wujek captioned the photo, referring to the group’s role as Perry’s staff, friends, styling and music team in early 2010.
Speaking of footwear, Perry kept it relaxed in a pair of Hermès sandals. Her brown leather style — which coincidentally matches her Birkin — features a wide “H”-shaped toe strap that includes cutouts for added ventilation. Patchwork details give the suit an equestrian vibe and add a chic touch to her neutral ensemble.
Sandals like Perry’s are great for summer because they’re easy to put on and take off. Neutral leather shoes are gaining popularity this season because they can be paired with a variety of outfits. However, this style is also constantly innovating. Deckers X Lab recently introduced the new “KO-Z” slide to its line of recovery shoes, which features a layered foam sockliner and foot rocker for added comfort. At the same time, ease and relaxation have been embraced by brands; Vionic’s latest release of sandals includes a textured footbed and heel cup for added comfort, while padding and cushioning are key to new styles released by Andre Assous, Cougar and Minnetonka.
Perry is no stranger to comfy sandals, having launched several pairs in the Katy Perry Collection shoe line over the years. She also visited the circus this summer wearing Birkenstock slippers.

When it comes to shoes, the “Firework” singer’s shoes are bold and stylish—often coordinated with the ensembles of her shows and events. Previously, brands like Louis Vuitton, Bottega Veneta and Manolo Blahnik have seen her in pointy heels, flats and mules. Off work, the star prefers comfortable sneakers and slippers from Adidas, Saint Laurent and Birkenstock. She also wears shoes from her own Katy Perry Collection, which includes statement sandals, heels and flats with sparkling embellishments and bold colors — which she recently relaunched after buying it back in 2022.
