Joining the festivities at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Paramount has now released the first trailer for the final season of Star Trek: Picard. While the minute-long clip doesn’t reveal much about the third and last season’s storylines themselves, it does show some who will be returning or joining Jean-Luc Picard actor Sir Patrick Stewart The cast of the series, which includes six original Star Trek: The Next Generation cast members: LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Jonathan Frakes, Gates Mcfadden, Marina Sirtis and Brent Spiner.
“I remember watching the premiere of Star Trek: The Next Generation with my dad about 34 years ago like it was yesterday. It ignited my love of science fiction,” final season host Terry Matta Russ said earlier this year. “It is therefore most fitting that Jean-Luc Picard’s story ends with a commemorative opening and ending with his dearest and most loyal friends on the battleship Enterprise.”
There’s no firm release date for the final season of Star Trek: Picard, but the show will return in 2023.
