The Marvel movie, the highly anticipated sequel to 2018’s Black Panther, unveiled its first, now widely shared, trailer at the event.
The Emmy-winning star took to the stage in a black leather miniskirt. The strapless style includes an asymmetrical hem, smooth ribbed panels and side slits. This bold piece also gets a further edge with its buckled shoulder straps at the bodice and waistline. Coel’s outfit is paired with diamond stud earrings.
For footwear, Coel opted for a matching set of thigh-high boots. Her style includes a stretchy black leather upper with front seams, and a pointed toe sole. Completing the outfit are stiletto heels with a total height of at least 4 inches and an immediate simplification of her outfit.
Coel’s boots deftly play with a thigh-high silhouette, winning over for their streamlined shape and ability to layer. Neutral-hued leather and suede styles are favorites for their versatility, like new styles from Stella McCartney, Stuart Weitzman, and Michael Costello. In addition to Coel, stars including Camila Cabello, Rosalia and Gwen Stefani have also donned tall Le Silla, Courreges and Casadei boots in recent weeks.
As news of Marvel’s upcoming Phase 4 project begins, the actress’s sharp fashion trends may continue in the near future. In fact, she’s had a string of high-profile fashion moments over the past year, wearing a blue sequined Balenciaga heeled bodysuit to the 2021 Met Gala. Earlier that year, she also made headlines at the 2021 Emmys in a neon yellow Christopher John Rogers gown and heels.
San Diego Comic-Con is an annual event designed to raise awareness of film, television, comics and more, including action, sci-fi and horror. This four-day event, held at the San Diego Convention Center, is the first live event in the series since 2019.
