Thanks to New Balance, Coco Gauff will debut sneakers this summer.
The tennis star and the Boston-based sports brand have teamed up to release the New Balance Coco CG1, a new signature style — the brand’s first in the tennis market — that blends style and sportsmanship . Inspired by the major championship finalists themselves, the Coco CG1 focuses on comfort and stability, featuring a woven FitWeave Lite upper, durable rubber outsole and a FuelCell midsole made of EVA foam. Completing the style is New Balance’s Energy Arc technology, which uses midsole voids and fiberboard geometry to provide the wearer with greater energy return. Aesthetically, it’s as vibrant as it is stylish, featuring a colorblocked and gradient upper in white, black, pink, purple and orange – with a metallic gold “N” logo on each pair.
“From design to marketing, the entire team at New Balance truly cared about me as a person, not just an athlete, and that relationship led us to create the Coco CG1,” Goff said in a statement. “I signed with New Balance at such a young age and I’m excited to know that I will continue to work with them for a long time to come!”

In fact, Gauff was involved in the design process of the Coco CG1, incorporating details like her signature into the upper, along with her own quote “You can change the world with your racket,” on its right toe. The left toe coordinates of the park where Gauff grew up playing tennis, and the basketball and track spikes on the heel to represent her parents’ college track and field add a personal touch to the style. This is her second collaboration with the brand after debuting her activewear collection in 2021.
“Coco is an athlete whose success has always been defined by the past, but Coco is very clear that she has her own path to success, and we are delighted to have her as part of the New Balance family!” Head of Tennis Sports Marketing, New Balance Evan Zeder said in a statement. “Coco has always been focused on her game, but also true to herself, and her pursuit of success goes well beyond the tennis court.”
Notably, Gough has also worn the shoes on the court. On Sunday, the athlete won an exhibition match against Taylor Townsend at the Atlanta Open at Atlantic, Georgia, ahead of his Aug. 26 release.

The New Balance Coco CG1 sneaker will be available in two colorways ahead of the U.S. Open on August 26. The style retails for $170 on the New Balance website.
Goff is New Balance’s newest partner. In recent months, the brand has released collaborations and new styles with Jaden Smith, Miu Miu and Todd Snyder. The brand also recently launched a surf-inspired collection with Staud — the pair’s fifth and final collaboration.
